7 Sins of China That Affects Tibet, Xinjiang, India, Inner Mongolia, and the World

Since the video of ‘7 Sins of India’ rolled out from china’s news manufacturing unit, I thought I should list out the list of ‘7 Sins of China’.  Btw did anyone notice this video was surprisingly posted in the English language and on social media platforms like youtube, and Twitter both of which are supposedly banned in China? Truly speaking there are numerous sins committed by China but I will list out just 7 most infamous ones, and these are: -

1. Tiananmen Square Massacre 1989– who can forget the brutal crackdown by the Chinese Army on peaceful protests to call for democratic rights and democracy by Chinese students who had converged on Tiananmen Square in Beijing, in 1989. As some students went on hunger strikes even industry workers the so-called pillars of China's strength had come out in their support. In the crackdown that followed over 2000 people were killed as per conservative estimates along with several dozen soldiers and policemen. Can the Chinese government wash its hand off the sin to kill innocent protesters?

2. Disappearance of 11th Panchen Lama 1995: - After the death of the 10th Panchen Lama, a dispute between the Chinese leadership and the 14th Dalai Lama resulted in two competing candidates. When the Dalai Lama, according to the Tibetan tradition, unilaterally announced the selection of Gethin Choekyi Nyima as the 11th Panchen Lama, the Chinese to prevent him to be taken to India by Dalai Lama's supporters took him away and selected Gyaincain Norbu, as the 11th Panchen Lama in China. The whereabouts of Gethin Choekyi Nyima, possibly the world’s youngest political prisoner since 1995 is yet unknown. Can the Chinese government wash its hand off sin to remove the legitimate Panchen Lama, just to prove who is the boss?

3. Capture of Inner Mongolia 1934– How China subdued and captured the inner Mongolia region in the past few hundred years is well known. When Mongols living in those areas rose against the oppression of Chinese monarchs, they were brutally overpowered with men, little kids murdered, and women sold into slavery. Chinese claim over inner Mongolia is mostly related to the long march done before WW2 by the communist army when they were on the run from pursuit by the Chiang Kai Shek’ Republic of China army. It is mostly in inner Mongolia that they found refuge to recover themselves. Even in modern times, after the end of WW2, when the Mongols of Inner Mongolia were trying to assert their legitimacy, they were brutally suppressed. Can the Chinese government wash its hand off sin to brutally suppress the Mongols of Inner Mongolia?

3. Capture of Xinjiang 1949  – China’s claim to Xinjiang, geographically the largest province is that Turkic Muslims of the Turfan and Kumul Oases had submitted to the Qing dynasty of China and were mere vassals of China. It's well-known how much bloodshed was committed by the Qing dynasty to hold on to these vassals, but that is history. In modern days after the end of WW2, the unrecognized independent soviet backed East Turkestan Republic was in existence in northern Xinjiang from 1944 to 1949, while the rest of Xinjiang was controlled by Chiang Kai Shek’s Republic of China was later defeated and went on to found the Republic of China or Taiwan. In a secret deal with the Soviets, the Chinese captured the East Turkestan Republic in 1949, and have since heaped untold misery on Uighur Muslims who are nowhere related to Han China.

China has made Xinjiang an open-air jail; has made every effort to change the demographics of the region, it said now there are more Han Chinese in the region than Uighurs. Numerous rules of oppression by China to keep Xinjiang Muslims on a tight leash is well known. Can the Chinese government wash its hand off sin to brutally suppress the Muslim Uighurs of Xinjiang? Did anyone know that India lost its gateway to Central Asia when its consulate in Kashgar town, the 2nd largest city of Xinjiang was closed down in 1949-50?

 4. Capture of Tibet 1950 - China’s claim to Tibet is that it is a region with a highly decentralized form of governance and that Han Chinese and Tibetan often mixed together and China always helped Tibet to repel attacks from invaders be it the Nepalese kingdom or Sikh kingdom. China forgets that following the Xinhai Revolution against the Qing dynasty in 1912, Qing soldiers were disarmed and escorted out of Tibet Area. Tibet subsequently declared its independence in 1913, had diplomatic relations with other nations including British India, and issued its own passport, and printed currency. However, after China captured Xinjiang, it next set its eyes on Tibet and sent its troops in 1950 on the pretext of maintaining law and order. However, actually, China did everything to interfere with Tibetan governance and lifestyle and tried to impose its own writ over the region.

Since the 1959 failed uprising, after which HH Dalai Lama fled to India; China has made Tibet an open-air jail; has made every effort to change the demographics of the region, it’s said now there are more Han Chinese in Lhasa than Tibetans. If any Tibetan visits India to take part in the Kalchakra festival organized by HH Dalai Lama, once they return, they are whisked away to detention centers where they are cleansed of Tibetan teaching and reformatted to communist ideology. Can the Chinese government wash its hand off sin to brutally suppress the Buddhist Tibetans of Tibet? Oh, did anyone know that India lost the Indian consulate in Lhasa and trade agencies in Yatung, Gyantse, and Gartok that were closed after the 1962 war?

5. Illegal Capture of Shaksgam Valley/Trans Karakoram Track 1963 - The Trans-Karakoram Tract is composed of the Shaksgam Valley and was formerly administered as a part of Shigar, a valley in the Baltistan region. Most names of mountains, lakes, rivers, and passes are in Balti/Ladakhi, meaning this land had been part of the Baltistan/Ladakh region for a long time and has no connection with China whatsoever. The only connection with China was that China claimed suzerainty over Hunza, south of the Macdonald line as its emir had given nominal allegiance to China in 1847. But suddenly after WW2 ended in 1959, China published maps showing large areas west and south of the Macdonald line as part of its territory.

The problem was that this area actually came under the district of Gilgit Baltistan which as per the Treaty of Accession signed by Maharaja of Jammu & Kashmir was part of the princely state of Jammu & Kashmir. Pakistan after illegally occupying the district of Gilgit Baltistan in 1947-48 decided to hand over the entire Trans Karakoram Track to China in 1963 after China captured Aksai Chin in 1962, despite protests from India using diplomatic channels. It is Trans Karakoram Track that China intends to use to build supporting infrastructure for malefic CPEC. Can the Chinese government wash its hand off the sin of illegally capture areas that actually belong to India?

6. Shameless Copying of Russian/American Weapons 1970s Onwards- Let’s face it China may have the world’s largest standing army at 2.3 million and the largest defense forces with the air force and navy combined, but the fact is much of its military depends of weaponry that are blatant copies of Russian/ American weapons. Let’s just forget the AK47. While some were based on stolen designs using espionage, others were developed using the process of using their engineering prowess to clone things, something they have perfected over the years. Thereby, denying the OEMs the rightful royalty and IPR. Let’s not talk about the fake apple phone/store, or fake Mercedes car/showroom. Some of the weapons copied are Mig 21 to J7, Su27 to J11, F35 to J31, C17 to Y20, Predator to Rainbow-4, Javelin Anti-Tank to HJ-12, Humvee to Dongfeng EQ2050.

The list just goes on and on and has made Russia mighty pissed off and only after it Russia got China to sign on the dotted line that it won’t induct weapons copied from Russia, has Russia started delivery of Su 35 to China. Can the Chinese government wash its hand off the sin of illegally copying weapons and denying the OEMs their rights?

7. Use Debt Trap as Weapon- A new weapon in China’s dragon’s armor is a financial ploy of using debt as a weapon to subdue less developed nations to capitulate and obey China. That helps China not just grab land not just in India's neighboring countries so that it can effectively ring fence India, a sample being China grabbing Gwadar port in Pakistan and Hambantota port in Sri Lanka. The mega Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a plan to deploy this weapon which analysts call a "debt trap". Many African and South American nations are now in full or partial control of China’s ‘debt trap’.

It does nothing simply floods them with easy loans at easy interest and starts pumping money into their infrastructure, but after some time it shows its true nature when the nations can’t pay, China arm-twists them to capitulation forcing them to do want it wants. A sample is South Africa, which was forced to cancel a visit by His Holiness The Dalai Lama after China protested. ALL South American nations scared of China have broken ties with Taiwan. All African nations to have followed suit in breaking ties with Taiwan, except the King of Swaziland who is holding it out against China. If you thought that European nations are exceptions, think again. Montenegro is now in the debt trap of China. China is building a road for this nation but cannot pay up, and has now been forced to freeze benefits to mothers, recruitments, and more.

Truly China is a shrewd nation and is not only concerned with capturing territory but using finance as a weapon against poor nations. Forcing them to capitulate and follow China’s diktat. Be it suppressing Uighur/Tibetan refugees, shooing away Taiwan, and a lot more. The world needs to realize this and stop China’s juggernaut that will only harm this world in long run.
