Iran Attacks Israel, Humiliates It, Jordan Plays Spoilsport – Options for India

Iran has taken REVENGE for Israel’s attack on its embassy in Damascus, Syria on 1 April 2024; by launching retaliatory strikes on the intervening night of 13-14 April 2024. Iran used a range of drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles to target a major intelligence centre and an airbase. Under ‘Operation True Promise’ Iran launched over 300 of them in total, with the slowest kamikaze drones first, followed by cruise missiles and then hyper/supersonic ballistic missiles.

The 1st ever direct assault by Iran on Israel as a response to the Damascus attack that killed 7 top IRGC officials, covered a distance of around 1700 km or 1000 miles. This revenge attack amply proves that Iran not only has the capability but the means ready to hit Israel. This attack has left the major intelligence centre decimated and the NEVATIM airbase completely out of operation for a good enough time. Reportedly Iran had informed the USA through its NATO ally Turkey, of the impended strike 24 to 36 hrs in advance, which according to Iran was aimed at achieving a limited objective.

It is for this reason Israel was able to evacuate the F35s based out of the Nevatim airbase to safety. Iran has also communicated in a public statement after the attack directed at the USA, that its objectives were achieved and was indeed not interested in escalating the situation. If Israel wished to retaliate, Iran was well prepared to respond. Iran reportedly used the strategy employed by RUSSIA, in the Special Military Operation in Ukraine of effectively using Shahed 131/136 drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles to take out targets.

While Iran’s attack COST it anywhere between 75 to 100 million dollars to defend itself from these attacks the kind of weapons Israel put to use, cost it billions of dollars in a single night. Reportedly Israel spent 1.3 billion dollars in Iron Dome and other interceptors to stop 99% of the incoming missiles and UAVs. This is not counting the cost incurred by others like Jordan, the USA, and the UK who also participated in saving the Israeli booty on the intervening night of 13-14 April 2024. It's beyond estimate how much Israel and others, would have had to spend in a single night had Iran chosen to take out multiple targets and sent over 1000 drones, cruise, and ballistic missiles toward those targets.

It's probably for this reason as well as threats by Iran to the USA like ‘don’t fuck with us or we fuck you’, ‘stay out of this, as we attack Zionist occupiers’, ‘our proxies will hurt you across the region’; that Israel was forced to dial down and drink a HUGE poison cup of humiliation to say ‘we are not war seekers’. Not to mention the warning to Israel that if it attacks its citizens or interests anywhere it must be ready for counterattack. The intensity of the attack also rattled the USA and Israel. All these forced the USA to say to Israel not to take any action without informing it and any action it takes will be without US support, even the UK which also participated in stopping many drones, and missiles has categorically told Israel not to escalate. This is quite contrary to what Israel has been seeking, that the USA and UK jump into the fray and fight its war to attack Iran.

The Iran attack, part of the shadow war started in support of Palestinians; that started around midnight and lasted for 5 long hours. The real spoilsport here was Jordan, which downed around 20% of the drones. Doing this Jordan once again seems to have betrayed the Palestinians. The Jordan King Abdullah II seems to have followed his father’s footsteps. His father King Abdullah I had in 1968 got Pakistani mercenaries led by Brigadier Zia Ul Haq (later president) to slaughter 25000 Palestinians. Deeply unpopular with the general public, Jordan's King Abdullah II couldn’t speak or understand a word in Arabic when he sat on the throne (only now speaks a little bit of Arabic with a heavy English accent).

The king having spent most of his early years in the UK, he will do good by abdicating the throne and escaping to the UK, with his entire clan. Remember that Jordan is home to over 4 million Palestinians who were thrown out of their homes in 1948 Naqba. A deadly siege of the Israeli embassy in Amman is a signal enough. This action of downing Iranian missiles and drones will not go down well with the Palestinians. Not many know that he is not Jordanian or Hashemite. He is of Saudi origin, his grandfather was installed as King in the 1920s alongside Iraq by colonial powers, the UK; to drive a wedge between Shia and Sunni in the region and continue robbing the resources of the region.

Add to this conundrum is India, which has fallen into a trap laid by Israel and the USA.

India to remain in the good books of the USA has been supporting Israel in many issues concerning Palestine, sometimes even shocking the world when voting in favor of Israel or abstaining. India thought the IMEC was an alternative to BRI, but the reality is China is everywhere in the IMEC. The rail links in the UAE and Saudi, which are integral parts of IMEC have been built by China. The Haifa port has been built by China and everything that goes in and out of Haifa; China makes money. Also, till the day India signed the dotted line on IMEC, Netanyahu didn’t dare show a picture without Palestine, once done he showed a picture to the world without Palestine, as IMEC is expected to cut through West Bank.

Some foolish Indians in their eagerness to impress the Israeli govt and people are vehemently abusing Iran and calling it a terrorist state when it is actually the opposite. Israel has been terrorizing Palestinians for the last 75 years, and the October 7 Hamas Attack was manifested as a result of it. Some other Indians are moving to Israel for jobs without realizing where they are going to work. Turns out most of them (mostly from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana) have been employed in construction projects in occupied territories of Golan Heights, West Bank, and Sheeba Farms.

The Indian government didn’t realize that by sending the Indians to work in areas occupied by Israel, India was basically legitimizing the occupation of China and Pakistan in Pak Occupied Kashmir, China Occupied Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Aksai Chin, Saksgham Valley. Many may ask how; simply occupying an area and starting construction work without facing objections from anyone, means that you are legitimizing their control and subsequent work in the area. Another problem here is that Iran has been one of the biggest suppliers of oil and gas to India. If not for sanctions, it would have continued to do so. If Indians continue to abuse Iran, a day may come when Iran may refuse to sell oil and gas to India, even deny access to Chah Bahar port, and most importantly stop India from accessing Armenia by road, India’s biggest defense customer nowadays. India and Indians need to tread very carefully in their support for Israel, overlooking the atrocities committed by it on Palestine and Palestinians as well as the bashing of Iran and Iranians.
